Kerry Cattle – One of Europe’s Oldest Breeds

Kerry cattle are one of the oldest breeds in Europe and are native to Ireland. It is considered an endangered breed with only some of the herds left in Ireland, the UK and North America.

They are the first breed of cattle bred solely for their milk, which has smaller fat globules than other cows milk. This makes it easier for us to digest in cheese, ice-cream and yoghurt.

Kerry cattle thrive in our cold, wet climate. Their hooves don’t damage the soil as much as heavier cows.
