Burkina Faso and FAO sign a host agreement

FAO Director-General awarded for efforts in promoting food and nutrition security

19 February 2018, Ouagadougou – The Government of Burkina Faso and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) today signed a new host agreement in the country’s capital.

The host agreement cancels the previous agreement signed in 1978, and was officially initialled by the Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister Alpha Barry and by FAO’s Director-General José Graziano Da Silva.

The Director-General of FAO and the President of GPC (Global Pulses Confederation) awarded by Burkinabe authorities

Acknowledging the efforts provided by FAO to achieve food and nutrition security and promote pulses, the Director-General of FAO has been awarded the rank of Officer of the National Order while the President of the Global Pulses Confederation was awarded the rank of Knight of the National Order by Burkinabe authorities
