En su carta dirigida al Director General, el Patriarca Ecuménico subraya imperativo moral de acabar con el hambre en el mundo

17 de Octubre de 2012, Rome, Italy - The Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarci his message to FAO Director-General Graziano da Silva praised the theme of this year’s World Food Week “Sustainable Peace for a Sustainable Future”.

His All Holiness, Bartholomew, underlined the moral imperative of overcoming world hunger, especially in the Horn of Africa and the Sahel.

The Archbishop emphasized our ethical responsibility to adopt simpler and more frugal lives for the sake of sustainable balance in the world for future generations.

The major challenge he stated was “how can we move away from what we want to what the world needs?”
