Zambia backs Director-General’s leadership

22 June 2013, Rome, Italy – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met yesterday with Robert K. Sichinga, Zambia’s  Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, who commended FAO’s work and the assistance it gives to the country.

The Director-General mentioned the support  given by FAO for Zambia’s national Agriculture Investment Plan. He praised  FAO’s work in the Integrated Land Use Assessment Project being implemented in Zambia and urged that implementation of new voluntary guidelines on responsible  Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of  National Food Security take place as quickly as possible.
