Rome Municipality and FAO to strengthen collaboration in the second part of the year

FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva meets Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino

22 April 2015, Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva today met with Ignazio Marino, Mayor of Rome to discuss new opportunities of cooperation between the UN agency and the Municipality.

Graziano da Silva thanked Marino for the longstanding relation of collaboration and the availability to deepen it in the near future.

Mayor Marino invited da Silva to join the upcoming Zero Hunger event to be held in the Campidoglio on June 7, 2015.

FAO Director-General shared with Mayor Marino FAO’s plans to modernize its communication and promotion messages addressed to Rome citizens and the international audience in Rome. The new tools will be in place in the second part of the year.

In the spirit of a re-enhanced friendship between FAO and its host city, the Municipality of Rome has proposed to participate in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the foundation of FAO.
