Agricultural investments, crucial to addressing African rural youth unemployment

2 July 2017, Rome - FAO Director-General, José Graziano da Silva, today met Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of Côte d’Ivoire, on the occasion of a joint African Union-European Union Agriculture Ministers Conference, co-hosted by the African Union Commission, the European Commission and the Estonian Presidency of the EU Council at FAO headquarters in Rome.

Talks focused on the need for agricultural investments and strong implementation programmes to generate sustainable, inclusive jobs for African youth in rural areas.
