Climate change impacts in agriculture, at the center of discussions with Chile's Agriculture Minister

Furche: "We need to define concrete policies and programmes"

4 July 2017, Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Carlos Furche, Chile's Minister of Agriculture, todays discussed family farming and ways in which countries can better adapt to the impacts of climate change in agriculture. 

Minister Furche noted the need to define concrete policies and programmes to adapt to the "new reality of climate change." 

Talks took place on the sidelines of FAO's 40th Conference, the organization's governing body (3-8 July).
