Note: Calendar year data of the second year shown is used for production of tree crops other than olive oil and for animal fats and oils and fishmeal which are produced more or less evenly throughout the year. For olive oil a marketing year is used starting in November of the previous year. For annual oilseed crop, marketing years start at the beginning of the main harvest of the oilssed crop, which in the northern Hemispfere, usually commence in the period from July to October, and in the southern Hemisphere, in the following January to April. Production of oil (or cake) is defined as the oil (or cake) equivalent of that part of the crop which is available for crushing.
