FRA 2000 was made possible through the committment and contributions of a large number of dedicated professionals worldwide.
First of all, many forestry professionals working for their respective national institutions provided country data, analyses and information - often after considerable efforts to meet the detailed requests from FAO. Their submissions ensured that FRA 2000 was based on the most reliable information in every country. National experts also reviewed and validated the findings related to their respective countries and many participated in FRA 2000 related meetings or workshops around the world.
Secondly, a large number of persons were assigned to specific tasks in the assessment, ranging from literature surveys to remote sensing and mapping and covering a broad set of forestry subjects.
