After mostly dry weather until early June, substantial rains in mid June covered most of the agricultural zones, permitting land preparation and planting to start. Cumulative rainfall is generally below the level at the same time last year.

No Desert Locusts activity is reported. Pastures remain mostly dry, particularly in the east.
