GUINEA-BISSAU

GUINEA-BISSAU:

Improved rains in August benefited rice and coarse grains development. After substantial rains in mid June, precipitation decreased in July, delaying transplanting of rice from seedbeds to swamp areas. Precipitation resumed in early August and became particularly abundant in late August and early September, allowing transplanting of rice to continue. Crops are developing satisfactorily.
