Antigua: growing of ornamental fish

Barbados: experiments with an edible seaweed, Gracilaria sp., have shown great success

Belize, the Grenadines and Carricou: research is being undertaken on seeding of conch

Cayman Islands: success has been achieved with raising of green turtles, Chelonia

Dominican Republic: pen and cage culture for smallholders is being investigated using tilapia and carps

Guyana: experimental research on grow-out of M. rosenbergii is being done, with first commercial production expected in 1981

Haiti: experimental culture of tilapia and oyster

Jamaica: experimental culture of oysters, Chinese carps and M. rosenbergii

Martinique: M. rosenbergii is being cultured in a hatchery

Puerto Rico: tilapia culture is being developed. A venture to farm Gracilaria for agar is being formed with a company which already has a seaweed operation in Chile

St. Lucia: a project to culture Gracilaria, using technology developed in Barbados

Virgin Islands: experimental mariculture research is investigating the potentialities of upwelling mariculture
