TIME OF COLLECTION

Most species have distinctive periods during the year when rooting is best. The period varies with species and area. In general, it appears that anytime shoot elongation is not taking place, is suitable for rooting. The best time appears to be about a month before leaf flushing. Dormancy is usually restricted to the cool (temperate) or the dry (subtropical or tropical) season.
