Circular Letter No. 23 of February 1985 from the DANIDA Forest Seed Centre is entitled “Seed Catalogue for Project on Seed Stands and Gene Conservation Stands and for Research”. Readers of Forest Genetic Resources Information not already on the Seed Centre's mailing list will be interested to know that a total of 193 seedlots of 47 species, subspecies or varieties are listed. The tropical pines are best represented, with 20 or more seedlots listed for each of Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis, P. kesiya, P. oocarpa and P. patula. The species included are shown here in Table 1. Full details of each seedlot are included in the Circular Letter.
The seedlots are grouped according to the purpose to which they are suited, based on the details of source and the quantities available, i.e. Gene Conservation Stands, Seed Stands, Pilot Plantations, Research and Introductory Trials.
