A Round Table Meeting on the Integration of Disabled People in Agricultural and Agro-Industry Systems was held from 13th May 1997, at the Royal Princess Hotel and 14th to 15th May 1997 at the United Nations Convention Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand. During this period the participants operated as a Working Group of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee for Asia and the Pacific (RICAP) Sub-Committee on Disability-related Concerns (14th Session), in which they addressed the agenda item 2c, on Integration of People with disabilities in Agricultural and Agro-industry Systems.
Meeting Attendance With FAO sponsorship, nine subject matter specialists participated in the Meeting and Working Group from six countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand. Several resource persons from Thailand, and representatives from United Nations Organizations including ESCAP and ILO were also present. The Secretariat was composed of staff members of the FAO Headquarters and FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) in Bangkok. The List of Participants is given in Annex I.
