ABSTRACT
The Working Party on Pollution and Fisheries reviewed actual data on phosphorus loadings in lakes in different parts of Africa and discussed existing models used in the world for calculating phosphorus loads from non-point sources. It concluded that although progress had been made in compiling information, more data still had to be acquired. It therefore confined itself to producing an interim statement on the state of phosphorus loadings of African lakes. A paper on phosphorus modelling of African lakes presented to the session is annexed to this report.
