This document presents the proceedings of the Fifth World Fish Inspection and Quality Control Congress held in The Hague, the Netherlands, from 20 to 22 October 2003. The Congress was a joint initiative of the Dutch Food and Non-Food Authority, the International Association of Fish Inspectors, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
These proceedings include selected papers contributed to the four sessions of the Congress programme and contain a complete list of contributors and the official welcome address. The document has been technically reviewed by Lahsen Ababouch, Chief of the Fish Utilization and Marketing Service of the FAO Fisheries Department and Consultant John Ryder.
