I would like to thank Dr. William I. Lindley, the Agricultural Training and Extension Officer of FAO, and Mr. Stephen A. Dembner, Project Assistant of FAO for the excellent project background and introduction of topic matter of the population education programme which was well accepted by the participants.

The teaching materials for population education programmes suitable for rural communities were approved.

The local experts have played a great role to give guidance about the population growth situation in Swaziland as affecting agriculture and environment, present population, rural population and age groups in Swaziland.

The lecures by the local experts have helped the participants to set up the strategies for implementation of the population education programme and adoption of the suitable teaching materials for the programme.

The Swaziland Youth Development Consultative Council is thankful to the Ministry of Interior for entrusting it with responsibility to monitor and supervise the project.

This project is the follow-up of the 1986 National Workshop on Rural Youth and Young Farmers which was co-sponsored by the Swaziland Youth Develoment Consultative Council and FAO, held in Mbabane from 2-5 December, 1986.

The United Nations Development Programme plays a great role in supporting the Rural Youth and Young Farmers Programme in Swaziland.

The Swaziland Youth Development Consultative Council needs full support by all parties concerned in the implementation of the project in 1988. Thank you.
