Unasylva - Started in 1947, this quarterly publication is intended to cover a range of interests as wide as that of the Division whose work it mirrors.

Cover photograph: A portion of Kaingaroa forest, North Island, New Zealand, visited by delegates to the seventh session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission. The photograph shows scattered clear-felled areas of radiata pine, each setting being 80-100 acres (35-40 hectares). These areas will be regenerated naturally or replanted. The remainder of the forest will be similarly treated, the objective being to produce a patchwork of different ages to replace the present very large continuous areas of approximately the same age.
