1 Congo (Democratic Republic of) resigned from the Council on 1 January 1994.

2 Czechoslovakia was a FAO Member from 1945 to 1950, and from 1969 to 1992. It was elected as a Member of the Council at the Twenty-sixth Session of the Conference (November 1991) for the period 1 January 1993 to November 1995. As of 1 January 1993, however, Czechoslovakia ceased to exist and became the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Twenty-seventh Session of the Conference (November 1993) elected Slovakia to the Council seat vacated by the former Czechoslovakia for the period November 1993 - November 1995.
