84. The Chairperson of the Working Party illustrated the rules of procedure for the Election of the Board. She also stressed that the election should assure representation from North, Middle and South European countries.
85. Ms Jela Tvrdonova (Slovakia) and Ms Maureen Lally (Ireland) were unanimously elected as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, respectively. The Session elected as new Members, Ms Brigitte Roggendorf (Germany), Ms Eleni Tokkari (Greece), a former coopted Member, and Ms Guri Aarnes (Norway).
86. Mr. Zjalic, FAO Regional Representative for Europe, thanked Dr. G. Pichler (Austria) and Mrs P. Siiskonen (Finland), respectively outgoing Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Board, for their dedicated contribution to the work of the Working Party and expressed his and the Session best wishes for the successful work of the newly-elected members of the Board.
87. Dr. Pichler, the outgoing Chairperson, very warmly thanked the Board for all the work achieved during her mandate, and thanked the Regional Office for Europe and the Secretariat for their continuous support. She offered her most sincere congratulations to the new elected Members.
