AGREEMENTS
Liberia/lvory Coast Cooperation Agreement
-Reciprocal fishing rights for 3 bona fide Liberian and Ivory Coast fishing vessels (shrimp trawlers, approx. 70 feet, 350 H.P. with refrigeration capacity of 25 tons);
-No fees;
-Other provisions regarding exchange of information, joint studies.
  LEGISLATION
Local fishing vessel
defined as fishing vessel owned by nationals or companies in which a controlling interest is held by nationals. (Revised Fishing Rules and Regulations, 1973)

LIBERIA LEGISLATION
-Licence required.
-Licensed vessels to be marked with official registration number issued by Division of Fisheries.

-All catch to be landed in Liberia and vessels must be based in Liberia.
-Life-saving gear must be carried.

LEGISLATION
-Commercial fishing vessels to submit quarterly report (on monthly basis) of catch and landings to Division of Fisheries on 28th day of last month of each quarter.
-Reports to indicate tonnage (boxes) of fish landed, place where caught, species, type of gear, approximate value of catch.
-Processors to submit reports on similar basis indicating method of processing, kind, quantity and value of fish processed.

% = Reports must be made every 3 days for vessels from Norway, Sweden and Faroes when fishing for herring, weekly when fishing for other species .
O = Logbook to be filled out(radio report to be made) after every fishing operation .
* = Country is a part to the South Pacific FFA arrangement which stipulates that licences will not be issued to foreign fishing vessels unless those vessels are listed in good standing on the FFA - maintained regional register of fishing vessels .
