PAKISTAN LEGISLATION

LEGISLATION
-Joint venture guidelines for fishing by Pak flag vessel only:
(a) security deposit of Rs. 2 000 000 per vessel;
(b) licence fee of Rs. 5 000 000 per vessel per year.
-Vessels of GRT 300-1 000 only
-Area of operation beyond 35 miles from coast only
-Catch to be exported in frozen form through Pak port
-Tax holidays
-Provisions specified regarding responsibilities of local and Pakistani flag party.

PAKISTAN LEGISLATION
-Licence may be limited to a certain area. (Sect. 6)
-All fish taken in the zone shall be landed at ports with customs check point. (Sect. 16)
-Same rules and conditions apply to both local and foreign fishing vessels. (Sect. 1)
-Conditions include conservation measures, closed seasons, etc. (Sect. 6)
-Vessels subject to navigational regulations.
