SWEDEN Licences issued by the EC. No fees. Access to the Swedish fishing zone governed by bilateral agreements between the EC and third countries on a reciprocal basis. Local fishing vessel defined as a fishing vessel with a length of 5m. or more (loa) in possession of a national fishing permit. The holder of such a permit must have a national fishing licence.

SWEDEN LEGISLATION
-For non-Community vessels: conditions specified in fishing agreements between the EC and third countries.
-For Community vessels: Sweden's adhesion Act to EC provides for a transitory regime of access to waters under national jurisdiction laying down conditions for fishing activities from EC and Finland.
-Number of authorizations for vessels fishing in zone CIEM IIId= 104 for cod, herring and sprat; 55 for salmon.

LEGISLATION
Community vessels shall report the following information, to relevant Swedish Authorities prior to entry in, after a stay of more than 14 days in, or before leaving, the Sweden's waters:
-vessel nationality and call sign;
-identification letters and number, as well as vessel name;
-place and time of entry, geographical position, division CIEM, in the fishing zone;
-number of fishing days;
-almost similar conditions are listed for Finnish vessels operating in Swedish waters.

- Numbers represent periodicity of reports(in days / hours) or deadlines For submission of reports; W = weekly; D = daily; M = monthly; R = on request .
% = Reports must be made every 3 days for vessels from Norway, Sweden and Faroes when fishing for herring, weekly when fishing for other species .
O = Logbook to be filled out(radio report to be made) after every fishing operation .
* = Country is a part to the South Pacific FFA arrangement which stipulates that licences will not be issued to foreign fishing vessels unless those vessels are listed in good standing on the FFA - maintained regional register of fishing vessels .
