Prior to stocking of spawn/fry or 4–5 days after manuring examine the availability of natural fish food in the pond.
Take the pond water in a clean glass and watch through against the sunlight. Magnified view of actively moving minute organisms and greenish to brownish green colour of the water are indicative of food availability.
In case the water is yet to attain the brownish to brownish-green colour, do additional manuring.
Remember deep green water is not suitable for stocking of spawn
