Price paid for imports of beche-de-mer to Hong Kong and Singapore are different from a country of origin of the product to another (Table 9). Product from Japan fetches highest price, 299 HK$/kg whereas the product from Indonesia and the Philippines have been paid substantially below average annual price (9–10 HK$/kg). This probably a main reason explains their popularity. Products from these two countries appears very suitable for re-export after re-processing has taken place to add the commercial value.
