Cover photograph. A nation's forests are becoming a long-term investment instead of a one-time crop. This mountain scene in Colorado, U.S.A., symbolizes the five values which the forest can provide - timber, water, forage, recreation and wildlife. With the widespread emphasis tending today to be given to the economic importance of forestry, the other values of the forest must not be ignored.
