The Commission was unable to complete its review of Proposed Draft Standards submitted to it for consideration at Step 5, matters referred to it by Codex Committees, and proposals for the elaboration of new standards and related texts. It requested the Directors-General to convene an extraordinary session of the Executive Committee at an early date to consider these matters on its behalf, so that progress at Committee level would not be impeded.
