The last session of the Council considered the Draft Program of work for 1950 (C49/3) and requested the Director-General to forward it to the Conference as his own proposal and on his own responsibility.
At this stage, the Council wishes to draw the attention of the Conference to the report made by the Council at its Sixth Session on this matter and related budgetary implications. Taking into account the necessary continuity of the work of the Organization, major alterations of the priorities set by the previous Conference should be avoided. The Council is of the opinion that the Conference may usefully give some consideration to priorities for the year 1951 in order to assist the Director-General in his advance planning of the work of the Organization.
