Objectives
The main objectives of the workshop are to present and share information based on the country outlook papers among countries; and to further discuss and identify key issues and trends, main driving forces and possible future scenarios of the sector at the sub-regional level.

Each Focal Point will be invited to present the key issues and trends of trees and forests in the aspects of resource, management, services and products, policies and institutions in his respective country. Each presentation will be made in ten minutes.

Working Section II Main driving forces and their impacts on forests & trees

09:00 – 10:30 Presentation by countries on driving forces (facilitated by Hassan Abdel Nour)
Each Focal Point will be invited to present the main driving forces shaping the future of forests including the following three components: key factors affecting the trees and forests, positive and negative impacts of the key factors, main constraints and opportunities the trees and forests are facing in his respective country. Each presentation will be made in ten minutes.

Day 3 (13 April)
Field trip to Mount Kasyoun, Joumaria, Maysaloun, Zabadani in Damascus area to visit forest plantations and nurseries, including a lunch hosted by FAO.
