INTRODUCTION

1. The Seventy-Third Session of the Council was held in Rome on 1 December 1977, under the Chairmanship of Bukar Shaib.

Adoption of the Agenda¹

2. The Agenda of the Session as adopted is set out in Appendix A to this Report.

Election of Vice–Chairmen²

3. The Council elected B. de A. Brito (Brazil) and M.A. Papageorgiou (Greece) as First Vice—Chairman and Second Vice—Chairman respectively.

Tribute to Roy J. Jackson²

4. The Council paid tribute to Roy I. Jackson, Deputy Director—General of FAO since 1972, who would be retiring from active service with the Organization on 31 December 1977 ³.
