91. The Council recalled Conference Resolution 4/93 on the Fiftieth Anniversary of FAO and examined the Draft Declaration contained in CL 108/18. The Council established an Open-ended Working Group which elected Mr Thomas A. Forbord United States of America and Ambassador Salah Hamdi (Tunisia) as Chairman and Vice-Chairman, respectively. The Working Group met on 10 and 13 June to prepare a revised Draft Declaration which was approved by the Council as given in Appendix J.
92. The Council requested the Director-General to circulate to all Members of the Organization the Draft Declaration as approved by the Council as soon as possible, requesting any FAO Members who wished to provide comments to do so in writing to the Director-General by Friday 7 July 1995. This would enable the Working Group, which would continue after this Council session had concluded, to prepare a final version for dispatch by the Director-General by 15 July 1995. This would be placed for approval before Ministers at the Fiftieth Anniversary Observance on 16 October 1995, World Food Day, in Quebec City. The approved text would be submitted for final adoption to the Twenty-eighth Session of the FAO Conference in Rome in October 1995.
93. The Council approved the Revised Calendar of FAO Governing Bodies and Other Main Sessions 1994-95, as given in Appendix K to this Report.
94. The Council decided that its Hundred and Ninth Session should be convened in Rome on 18 and 19 October 1995.
