CHAIRMAN: Yesterday we stopped at discussions on the State of Food and Agriculture, and altogether five people spoke in one hour and fifteen minutes. That gave us an average of fifteen minutes per speaker. If we go on at this rate we cannot possibly finish this item during the whole of today, and I have on my list 11 or 12 people who want to take the floor. Before that I would like to remind you of our Method of Work and I will read out the relevant section of this so far as debates are concerned: "Lengthy and/or repetitious statements should be avoided. Speakers should not re-state views already expressed by others unless extended debate is required to develop a consensus. In these cases, speakers should confine themselves to indicating their agreement with a previous speaker, and not repeat what has already been said."

Therefore I would like to appeal to you not to repeat what others have said, and to be as brief as possible.
