Interest in the development of forest utilization and woodworking industries is reflected in the continual demand for information on new equipment. PORTABLE EARTH AUGERS WITH PETROL ENGINE.

- Drill can be converted in few minutes to drive several types of tools. Operated by 2 or 4 men, depending on whether tripod is used. Sturdy tripod with built-in rope winch and brake for hoisting auger available in several sizes with different lifting powers and varying strokes. Specifications: Augers available in 4 sizes: 4.72, 5.9, 9.84, 13.78 in. (120, 160, 250 and 340 mm.) diameter; standard length of drill 4 ft. 3 in. (1.30 m.). With aid of extension rods, Auger will penetrate to working depth of 82 ft. (25 m.) depending on kind of soil.

AUXILIARY DRUM ATTACHMENT FOR EXTRA HEAVY DUTY WINCH.

- Auxiliary drum for International 8 and 9 series crawler tractors permits subsidiary winching operations without uncoupling original load from main winch. Drum has under-and over-winding and provides line pulls at speeds between 188 and 472 ft. (57.3-144 m.) per min. Max.line pull of up to 3,928 lb. (1,780 kg.) at all line speeds.

ONE MAN CHAIN SAW, MODEL 7-29.

- Will bring down trees 10 ft. (3 m.) in diameter. New model 7-29 delivers 7 full hp; weighs only 29 lb. (13 kg.). With all-angle carburetor it outs in all positions.

"HAMMERLOCK" COUPLING LINK.

- New coupling link enables alloy chain users to make up their own sling and special assemblies. Consists of a pair of body halves, a tubular stud and hardened alloy steel pin. Can be assembled in seconds, then securely locked by steel pin which bites into steel stud. No peening or welding required. Link can be disassembled and re-used. For use in joining attachment such as hooks and large links to body chain.

PULL-TYPE ROTARY CUTTER.

- New pull-type model of Gyramor 5-ft. (1.5 m.) rotary cutter is heavy-duty brush-cutter, pasture-clipper and stalk-shredder; will fit any tractor having standard drawbar and power take-off.

Cutting height (0-14 in. or 35 cm.) controlled with either remote hydraulic cylinder or manual screw-jack. Single rotor arm with flail-type alloy-steel blade at each end. Three types of blades available straight, suction and pickup. Shredding attachment can also be installed

DISC-TYPE DEBARKER.

- Machine of heavy-duty arc-welded steel designed for rough work in forest. Drive to all-steel feed roller taken through variable speed V-rope drive, and oil-bath reduction gear to safety clutch mounted in center of feed roller. Roller mounted slightly at angle to disc surface, giving end-ways as well as rotary motion to timber. Welded steel covers over all moving parts not in contact with timber. Disc type barker relieves operator of most of heavy work holding and rotating timber.

- Improved nailing procedures result from introduction and mass production of: 1) helically threaded "Screwtite" nails with medium thread pitch, 2) annularly threaded "Stronghold" nails, and 3) helically threaded "Stronghold Screwnails "with small helix angle for use in wood assembly and building construction. Threaded fasteners manufactured from low-carbon or high-carbon steel and can be driven into hardwoods and concrete. Used in furniture construction, shoemaking and assembly of wooden boats.

GRINDING MACHINE TYPE SA-7A/Z.

- New patented design for grinding gangsaw blades at smaller sawmills. Grinding operation itself done by hand. Depth and pitch of teeth can be adjusted and shape of each tooth changed by altering jig. Sawblade is put in blade keeper, pushed up against a stop and locked into position. Stop adjusted to inclination of tooth needed so that all sawblades given same form and inclination of teeth.
