417. The Conference adopted the following resolution:

Appropriations

THE CONFERENCE

Resolves that for the financial period 1962-63:

1 . Appropriations are voted for the following purposes:

Chapter I - Conference and Council 325,500
Chapter II - Office of the Director-General 1,564,700
Chapter III - Department of Public Relations and Legal Affairs 4,313,500
Chapter IV - Department of Administration and Finance 1,763,900
Chapter V - Common Services 2,742,200
Chapter VI - Technical and Economic Program 15,131,950
Chapter VII - Area Liaison Service (Regional Offices) 2,468,150
Chapter VIII - Freedom from Hunger Campaign 808,000
Chapter IX - Miscellaneous Expenditure 186,100
Chapter X - Contingencies 400,000
Less: Savings agreed upon by the Director-General (400,000)
Total $ 29,304,000

2. That the appropriations voted in paragraph I above should be financed by contributions from Member Nations after adjustment as provided in the Financial Regulations: for this purpose:

(a) it is estimated that the lump-sum allocation in respect of EPTA Headquarters costs will be $918,400 for 1962 and $1,075,800 for 1963; and

(b) Miscellaneous Income is estimated at $510,800 for the financial period 1962-63;

3. That contributions from Member Nations in 1962 and 1963 should be paid in accordance with the scale adopted by the Conference at its Eleventh Session4. That, in addition to the appropriations voted in paragraph I above, appropriations are also voted in the following amounts and for the following purposes:

(a) $1,741,000 to meet the cost of the revision of the Salary Scale for the Professional category staff and above, including consequential changes in post adjustments and Pension Fund contributions; and

(b) $140,000 to meet the cost of the revised terms of the Education Grant;

5. That the Appropriations voted in paragraph 4 should also be financed by contributions from Member Nations in accordance with the scale adopted by the Conference at its Eleventh Session.
