The role of cash transfer programmes in fostering broad-based economic development in sub-Saharan Africa
The From Protection to Production (PtoP) project is a collaborative effort with the UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office and six countries in the region, supported principally by funding from the DFID Research and Evidence Division, as well as the FAO Multi-Partner Programme Support Mechanism (FMM).
The project forms part of the larger Transfer Project in which FAO has joined UNICEF, Save the Children UK and the University of North Carolina in supporting the design, implementation and impact evaluation of cash transfers in sub-Saharan Africa.
