Our research on markets, prices and trade concentrates on:
- the impact of international markets and trade on the food security and poverty of agricultural, rural and urban households; - the effectiveness of trade and marketing policies at achieving their objectives and delivering benefits to the poor; - analyzing alignment and coherence among food and agricultural policies, public expenditures in the sector, and country objectives; analysis of policy and structural barriers to improving basic food markets; and - analysis of policy options in managing food price volatility.

| National Food Policy Capacity Strengthening Programme (NFPCSP) NFPCSP was initiated to enhance national capacity to implement the National Food Policy and Plan of Action. This project supports food security related initiatives of the Government of Bangladesh, strengthen the capacity of the Government to plan, monitor and implement the broadened policies, facilitate inter-ministerial collaboration and build stronger links between the Government and civil society. |
