Description
Following a meeting of the Rice Consultative Council, announced a 4 percent increase in paddy producer prices to USD 34.5 per 200 pounds (USD 380 per tonne) for the 2013 winter harvest. Additional support measures to the sector will include greater border protection, capacity building and higher subsidies on seeds, which will be raised from USD 113 to USD 200 per ha.
