Produce harvested found to contain caesium above the revised threshold will be prohibited from entering the market. In addition, areas in which 2011 harvests were found to contain traces of caesium above the previously applicable threshold of 500 becquerels per kilo will not be permitted to plant rice, while municipalities where caesium concentration in 2011 crops ranged from 100 and 500 becquerels per kilo will be permitted to plant, provided all produce subsequently gathered is subject to testing before distribution.
