Description
Announced that it would open bids 3.8 million tonnes of rice from government stocks on 25 July 2016. Auctioned volumes would include 400 000 tonnes of rice fit for feed and industrial uses only, 1.23 million tonnes of fragrant, white and glutinous rice of various grades and 2.18 million tonnes of rice fit for human consumption for exports. Parties interested in purchasing the latter volume will need to have secured export orders ahead of bidding.
