Description
The Ministry of Agriculture and the milling industries have signed the agreement setting the procurement prices for the purchase of the 2016 cereal crops. The price for white maize, fit for human consumption, was set at HND 7 150 (USD 308) per tonne for a total volume to be purchased amounting to some 8 percent of the aggregate production forecast in 2016. The agreement also includes purchases of yellow maize and sorghum for the feed industries. The measure aims to keep prices stable and boost domestic production.
