Description
Rejected a draft parliamentary bill calling for mandatory labelling of genetically modified foods.
Notes
The Canadian Parliament voted against a private member’s bill calling for mandatory labelling of genetically modified foods. The debate in Canada follows last year’s passage, in the United States, of a bill introducing mandatory GM-labelling over a three-year period (see MPPU Aug.’16).
