Description
Postponed the decision on the proposed 10-year renewal of the license for glyphosate-based herbicides, which are widely used in oilseed cultivation.
Notes
Based on the latest state of scientific research and taking into account the findings of a study recently conducted by the European Chemical Agency (see MPPU Apr.17), the European Commission decided to start consultations with Member States about a possible 10-year renewal of the approval of glyphosate one of the worlds most widely used herbicides. The 18-month approval granted last July is due to expire in December 2017.
