Description
Launched discussions on setting up a system for the collection of used cooking oil and its conversion into biodiesel.
Notes
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) initiated discussions with Indias Biodiesel Association on setting up a system for the collection of used cocking oil and its conversion into biodiesel, local media reported. Private sources estimated that, out of 23 million tonnes of cooking consumed annually in the country, up to 3 million could be recovered and used as biodiesel feedstock.
