Description
Announced that it would provide rice producers cultivating up to 1 ha with a one-time direct cash outlay of PHP 5 000 (USD 97) to help them cope with declines in paddy prices. The cash assistance would be provided on top of credit support available through the Expanded Survival and Recovery Assistance Program for Rice Farmers (SURE Aid Program), and would be financed by funds accrued from tariffs levied on rice imports.
