Description
Introduced the Diesel Subsidy Scheme and Enhanced Seed Subsidy Scheme to support farmers in drought-hit areas. The schemes will provided affected producers with a 50% subsidy on the costs of diesel used to power supplementary irrigation until 30 September 2012 and will raise ceilings of subsidies on seeds by 40 percent in the case of cereals to USD 13 (Rupees 700) per quintal, by 67 percent for pulses and oilseeds to USD 38 (Rupees 2 000) per quintals and by 25 percent in the case of coarse cereals to USD 19 (Rupees 1 000) per quintal.
