Description
As part of its 2013 budgetary allocations, announced the establishment of four new granaries in the states of Sabah, Sarawak and Pahang, for a total coverage of 19 000 ha and cost of USD 46 million (ringgit 140 million). An insurance scheme for 172 000 smallholders with less than 10 ha of holdings will be additionally introduced, while production incentives, including price support measures and subsidies on fertilizers, seeds, incentives to raise yields, are to continue with a budget of USD 783 million (ringgit 2.4 billion).
