Description
Announced that it would exempt paddy for sowing and husked rice (except for luxury rice) from Value Added Taxes (VAT) in an effort to promote domestic consumption and lower living costs. In addition, VAT taxes on rice flour, agricultural machinery and the rental/repair of agricultural machinery would be lowered from 18 percent to 10 percent. The measures would be effective from 1 January 2017.
