Production support
Description
Allocated Taka 430 million (USD 5.4 million) to support Aus crop cultivation during the 2013 season. The support package will provide an estimated 325 500 smallholders with free fertilizers and seeds of high yielding and Nerica rice varieties. The initiative is targeted to raise production from this smallest crop by 110 000 tonnes, thus helping alleviate concerns over depleting water tables from the extensive cultivation of the irrigated Boro crop.
