Description
Introduced a subsidy programme for rice marketed between 16 July and 15 November 2013. Subsidy payments to producers are to be determined based on the size of farmers\' holdings and the average extension cultivated in their respective regions. The initiative is geared at assisting the sector in facing a loss of productivity due to adverse climatic conditions, higher production costs, weakening prices and greater competition with imports.
